Looking Back

This poem (if you can call it that) was written for the days once shared by friends. Those days so lost, it hurts. Nothing special as you will soon read, mostly just me putting words together trying to make sense of it all. Enjoy!!

Slamming the door abruptly in the face
Closing all remnants of what once was there
Crushing all the shadows of the past
Aged events forever lost
Forecasts of futures nowhere in sight
Dreams and hopes forever wain
Bringing nothing to the heart
Holding no one in their grasp
Going back and forth through particles
Of a past lost in the annals of time
Shuttering at the thought of pressing
Shrinking at the thought of pleading
Paralyzed by the notion of knocking
Firm feet placed against the iron door
Blocking all who dares to trodden it
Holding out those not included
Problems burrowed deep inside
Admitting no one with a penchant for life
Tight lipped and loose buckled
Sharing the hopelessness with one another
I guess you can, really, never go home again.
